Iolite faceted rondelles measure approximately 3.5mm to 4mm in diameter, have a vitreous luster, good cut and polish, symmetrical rondelle shapes, well matched for tone on strand, the pleochroic gems have a violetish blue, grey and colorless hue depending on direction of view, and the transparent bodies have visible internal characteristics for a wonderfully rich strand of rondelles.
